Beyond Prejudice ‘Coexister’ – The Interfaith Youth Movement

Interreligious dialogue is now no longer an optional extra but a vital necessity to guarantee peaceful co-existence within our societies and to struggle against violence and fear. How do we open up to each other while remaining rooted in our faith? This is the challenge the Coexist Association is keen to address, bringing together young people from different religions and denominations who want to overcome prejudices and get to know each other, seeing difference as an asset, not a threat. This is an initiative that originated in the Vatican II 'Nostra Aetate' declaration on non-Christian religions, which this year celebrates its fiftieth anniversary.

We can pray for all those who get involved in inter-religious dialogue and who look for solutions so as to go beyond the logic of fear and conflict.
May the Holy Spirit inspire each one of us to have the right gaze on others, and help us to go beyond our prejudices to welcome difference.
